An article recently published in the Journal of Research in Rural Education presents case studies of three rural Wisconsin school districts. Findings suggest categories of why teachers decide to stay in their rural schools, including their commitment to students, opportunities for leadership and collaboration, connections to the community, and personal and professional ties.
